Vivek Vipul
Co-Founder and CEO
Vivek has 16 years of experience working for Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and "Big 4" consulting companies, which have helped him form Abzooba's vision and strategic direction. Prior to Abzooba, Vivek served as Co-Founder and Managing Partner for BrachySolutions Inc., a healthcare technology and services company, which was acquired by Radion Global. Other relevant experience includes sales at HCL-Hewlett Packard, management consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (acquired by IBM), and management and operations at Tellme Networks (acquired by Microsoft). Vivek received his B.S. degree in Engineering from IIT Kanpur and his MBA from the Walter A. Haas School of Business - UC Berkeley.
Rajiv Pratap
Co-Founder and Head of Engineering and Operations
Rajiv Pratap brings with him 18 years of experience as an entrepreneur and a technologist in the fields of data mining architectures, business intelligence, databases, web analytics and integration of data from mobile devices with enterprise data. Rajiv has co-authored several pioneering technical papers and research reports for various publications and holds two international patents. Rajiv was a founding member of Virtual Gold, Inc., a NY-based data mining and BI company, and Avita Software Pvt. Ltd. Rajiv started his career at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and received a B.Tech Computer Science from IIT Kanpur.
Dr. Naveen Ashish PhD
Co-Founder and Chief Data Scientist
Naveen Ashish is a Research Associate Professor at "Calit2" at the University of California - Irvine and is a well-known expert in the areas of automated information extraction, (big) data management, and semantic technologies. He has published close to 60 papers at top conferences and journals – with his paper on “web source wrapper generation” being amongst the top 10 cited papers in the ACM SIGMOD Record forum in a ten year period, and has served on program committees of acclaimed research conferences. He is also an editor of the book Geospatial Semantics and the Semantic Web: Foundations, Algorithms, and Applications (Semantic Web and Beyond), and the author of Optimizing Information Mediators Naveen received his PhD in Computer Science from University of Southern California and a B.Tech in Computer Science, IIT Kanpur. When not working he enjoys activities with his four year old son, and is a compulsive foodie – probably his most prolific use of social-media being finding promising new dining destinations.
R. Krishna Kumar, B. Tech, M. Tech (IIT Bombay)
Chief Architect
R. Krishna Kumar (“KK”) has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. Prior to Abzooba, he led technology teams at Denave India Pvt Ltd (www.denave.com), Avita Software Pvt. Ltd., and Virtual Gold, Inc., the last 2 of which were co-founded by him. Prior to this, he worked at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, NY, USA. He has proven expertise in architecting large systems, and designing enterprise-wide solutions for data management, including collection, warehousing and advanced analytics, including OLAP and data mining. He has co-authored several pioneering technical papers and research reports for various publications, and two international patents. He received the B. Tech. and M. Tech. degrees in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Bombay.
